In a bid to bridge the digital skills gap and foster technological empowerment, Genius IT Brainery has launched its Free Coding Xperience initiative. This program aims to equip at least 100 individuals in Ghana, particularly in the Volta Region, with practical digital skills, with a special focus on coding.
The first edition of the initiative, held on February 14th, 2025, was a resounding success, attracting 20 enthusiastic participants. Under the guidance of Desmond Kitsi, CEO of Genius IT Brainery, the attendees were introduced to programming fundamentals. By the end of the session, participants had grasped the basics and successfully written functional lines of code using the Python programming language.

The Free Coding Xperience is part of Genius IT Brainery’s broader mandate to provide accessible and practical digital skills training to underserved communities. The initiative seeks to empower individuals with the tools needed to thrive in an increasingly digital world, opening doors to opportunities in technology and innovation.
Desmond Kitsi, who personally delivered the lecture, expressed his excitement about the program’s impact. “This is just the beginning. Our goal is to demystify coding and make it accessible to everyone, regardless of their background. The enthusiasm and progress shown by the participants in this first edition are a testament to the potential that exists in our communities,” he said.
The participants, many of whom were new to programming, praised the initiative for its hands-on approach and clear instruction. “I never thought I could write code, but today, I did it! This program has inspired me to explore more in the tech space,” shared one of the attendees.
Genius IT Brainery plans to expand the Free Coding Xperience to reach more individuals across Ghana, with a focus on fostering digital literacy and creating a pipeline of skilled tech talent. The organization is calling on stakeholders, partners, and volunteers to support this transformative initiative.
